Kent Rasmussen
Kent Rasmussen (*1961) has an education as a technical assistant but has only been working in that profession occasionally. Instead he made a living as an artist making paintings and sculptures. But in 1993 he made a pipe from a pre-drilled block for a friend and found it interesting, so he made some more. Just before the turn of the century he found that the pipemaker Teddy Knudsen was living quite close and took courage to visit him. Teddy gave him a lot of valuable advice and from now on Kent was captured by pipe-making. The international breakthrough was in 2001 at the pipe show in Chicago. Today Kent is making about 85 pipes a year and his shapes are especially inspired by modern designing.
