Hans Former Nielsen (*1941) started as an apprentice in Poul Rasmussen’s workshop when he was 15, worked with W. Ø. Larsen’s for ten years, restored and ran a pipe-factory in Switzerland, moved that factory to Germany and finally came full circle by returning to Denmark.
In 2009, Former celebrated 50 years as a pipemaker. But that was just a milestone. Despite the fact that he has passed the age for retirement, he has no intention to stop. Hopefully he will continue making his beautiful pipes for many years to come.
