The half-brothers Anders Nilsson (*1964) and Martin Vollmer (*1969) got interested in making pipes by a book on the subject. They started at home using the kitchen-table, until they in 2001 found suitable premises for a workshop. But they wanted to learn the trade in depth, so for three years they were making pipes without telling anyone about it. In 2004 the Vollmer & Nilsson pipes were introduced internationally and are now sold in several countries.
